Position sizing is the foundation of risk management. This calculator helps you determine exactly how many lots to trade so that, if your stop loss is hit, you lose only the percentage of your account you intended to risk — no more, no less.
Enter your account balance, the percentage you're willing to risk on this trade (1% is a common standard), and your stop loss distance in pips. Select your currency pair to use the correct approximate pip value, and the calculator will show your position size in standard, mini, and micro lots.
